Movie Monday and Moving Forward!

What a soggy weekend, eh? I was able to take a walk on Saturday but the second half of the walk was very wet as it started raining on me. But MAN, the spring smells were in full effect this weekend! Flowers were blooming and trees were budding and it smelt amazing! Did anyone get a chance to smell some beautiful Spring smells this weekend?

Let's do some housekeeping before Movie Monday!

Firstly, we have TWO weeks of school left and I know it feels like we are done already. Trust me, I know. But we have to try and push through and get things done. Falling flat on our faces now because we don't want to do work or because it feels like summer is only going to hurt you and your grades. Especially the 8th graders! Just put two more weeks of effort in and make it count! You CAN do this.

Secondly, as we actually transition to summer I will be completely changing up the entire way we do things at ItsMrC.com. Instead of a structured daily blog format where I adhere to certain topics for most days, I will be transitioning to a post or two per week, maybe three, and those posts will differ with their themes and content. Much of the content will include what the heck your HMS teachers are up to, as well as myself and some other teachers will be using our summer to learn totally new things and we will be sharing our successes and failures with all of you! That can be something simple like learning to type better or without looking at the keyboard. Or maybe something super hard like a new language! On top of that, I will be attempting to host gaming tournaments and weekly game nights with you all with whatever games everyone is playing.

Thirdly, you have heard me say this a million times and I will continue to say it, creating and adhering to some daily structure is really good for your mental health. I am sure many of you have already been bored out of your minds since we left school and nothing in your home would remedy that. Switching from your phone to the TV then to the tablet then back to your phone then back to the tablet. And none of it helped. Creating a schedule and structure for yourself now, while you have some surefire things to do, will help you mitigate the boredom that summer can bring and a summer where you might be stuck inside will DEFINITELY bring. We don't want mushy brains when we come back to school!

Which leads me into highlighting last weeks posts like What We Were Up To this weekend! What about Mr Slavik's Tough it Out Tuesday. Or Ms AJ's Whip it Up Wednesday! How about last week's Throwback Thursday?

Harold will be back in about a week and our final Kahoot for this school year will be on Wednesday, 5/27 at 4 PM!

Let's give our attention to Ms LeeAnn as she reviews Flubber! I really enjoyed how she got dressed up and harked back to her previous reviews! Next week's movies will be Nacho Libre (Netflix) and Holes (Disney+)! Find some time this week to watch with all of us!

Participate. Have fun. Stay safe. Don't be nasty.
