This first week of Distance Learning has been quite the trip! Students and teachers getting acclimated to the new learning system and figuring things out as they go. I am sure it has been tough on everyone and some points were pretty stressful, but you are all doing AMAZING! Take every moment one step at a time and try your best. That's all you can do! That's all WE can do!
The Question of the Day has been going really well! So many of you are submitting responses and while it seems that yesterday's was super duper obvious to many of you, the responses overall have been hilarious. Starting next week I will be adding the previous day's answer to the daily post and updating each question with the correct teacher.
Here is the link to today's Question of the Day!
Points: There are three ways to earn points for every weekday of Distance Learning
Every day that a teacher is able to touch base with you via phone or Zoom is a point.
Every daily work packet that is completed to the best of a student's ability will be a point. That means that as long as it is obvious that a student is trying to complete their packets, even if they mess up sometimes or get some things wrong, that is a point.
Every time you submit a quality answer for the QotD or one that makes us laugh like crazy, you will earn a point. Saying "I dunno" will not count but wrong answers that could totally fit will count.
Once points start adding up and we get a better idea of what they look like after a couple weeks, we will let you know how your points will be able to be turned in for the School Store and/or prizes.
I guess yesterday's Throwback Thursday was a tough one because I got a lot of answers and many were so close! Our very first Throwback Thursday winners are:
Halima
Anisa F
Suhaib
Hafzah
Namariq
Congratulations to those students for winning an HMS water bottle! I will be sending those home with the food and work deliveries on Monday
Work Packets: You all should have two weeks of work packets that are labeled for 3/30-4/3 and 4/6-4/10. On Monday the buses will come around and collect the packets from before we left school and the packets for 3/30-4/3, only. Have those ready to go on Monday.
PAY ATTENTION because I will be posting all the time and hiding contests all over the place to get students involved. With yesterday's Throwback Thursday I bet a bunch of you figured it was too late to enter or even try but I got so many wrong answers that the last person to submit a correct answer and win a water bottle happened almost eight hours after the post went live! Eight hours later!
Moral of the story is keep paying attention because you never know!
That was a lot of info (told you I was going to put a lot in these posts) so to lighten things up and end our first full week on ItsMrC.com, we are going to end this week with a Caption Contest! Take a look at the photo and think of the best caption you can. Email me your answers and I will take the best ones and post them in the Google Classroom Homerooms and everyone will have a chance to vote for their favorite! The winner of the Caption Contest will win an HMS shirt in their size!
Email Mr C your APPROPRIATE answers and let's see! I will only take Caption Contest submissions on Friday and will post the poll over the weekend.

Here is the photo, GO!
What you are playing for, an HMS shirt of your own!
Participate. Have fun. Stay safe. Don't be nasty.
